Given: Savings of A=960

           Savings of B=200

To Find: Income of A and B.

Solution:

Let the income of B =x

Let the expendidutre of B=y

Income of A = x+20/100x =120/100x =6/5

Expenditure of A= y-20/100y=80/100y=4/5y

Savings=Income-Expenditure

Savings of A=Income of A - Expenditure of A

                     =6/5x - 4/5y

                 6x -4y=960 x 5

                  3x -2y=2400----> (1)

Savings of B=Income of B- Expenditure of B

                    =x-y=200----->(2)

Multiplying (2) by 2 and subtracting it from (1)

            3x - 2y=2400

            2x -2y=  400

         -       +      -

---------------------------------------

             x         =2000

Income of B=2000

Income of A =6/5 X 2000 =2400
