۞ Answer ۞

۞ Formula ۞

τ = PE sinθ

Here,

  • τ is the torque
  • P is the dipole
  • E is the electric field strength
  • θ is the angle between the electric field and dipole

۞ Given ۞

  • Magnitude of dipole = 2 C.M
  • Electric field strength = 4 x 10^{1} = 40 N/C
  • Angle between the electric field and dipole = 30°

۞ Process ۞

Substituting the values, we get:

τ =2 x 40 x sin 30

  =80 x 0.5

  = 40 NM

★ Hence, torque exerted by dipole will be 40 NM ★

All the very best for your class 12th examination.
