A electric heater of resistance 8 ohms takes a current of 15 A from the main supply line. Calculate the rate at which heat is developed in the heater.

• According to the question we should calculate the rate at which heat is developed in the heater

• rate of heat development denotes H / T

we know H = I^2 R T

implies,

H/T = I^2 R

therefore in the question it is given that,

I = 15 A and R = 8 ohm

therefore

H/T = 15 X 15 X 8

therefore

H/T = 1800 joules

therefore the amount of heat developed in the heater is 1800 joules
