Answer:

A) Electrons are moving in their respective circular shells as stated by Rutherford under an influence of electrostatic force . But James Clerk Maxwell stated that if any particle moved under an influence of electrostatic force then it must start radiating energy and will collapse into the atom . But we very well know that the atom is quite stable . Bohr provided a solution to it

He stated that electrons are moving in a shell having definite amount of energy called orbits and do not radiate or gain energy while moving in their particular shell . But sometimes in an excited state they move from one shell to another . While moving from a lower energy shell to a higher energy shell , it gains energy and vice versa . This movement of electrons from one shell to another can be seen in elements having atomic number larger than 18 .
