ATP(Adenosine Tri Phosphateis called the energy currency of a cell.
It is so called because it provides the energy required during various metabolic activities occurring in a cell.
Hydrolysis of ATP is exergonic and hence it provides the sufficient amount of energy required by a cell.

Angella: Oh yeah..That's true. ATP is nothing but ADP(Adenosine Di Phosphate) + P(1 inorganic phosphate).

adenosine tri phosphate is the energy currency of the cell.
As food in the cells is gradually oxidized, the released energy is used to re-form the atp so that the cell always maintains a supply of this essential molecule.
This conversion of atp to adp is an extremely crucial reaction for the supplying of energy for life processes.
