a essay of 200-250 words on a day full of surprises

We went on this trip on our last day in Istanbul. We had already spent 4 days there and gotten a great overview over the city and visited lots of sights. So I was very anxious whether or not this tour would be an addition to our whole trip. But I have to say that it was not only an addition - it was THE highlight of our trip.
We went to places in Istanbul that we didn't know existed, and tried food we knew existed but maybe wouldn't have tried if it wasn't for Oz, our guide.
My favorite part of this tour - and it is hard to say, because the whole day was simply amazing - was seeing the very conservative part of the town and meeting all these people along the way and hearing about their stories and being welcomed in their shop or at their stand.
Istanbul is full of contrasts and very unique with a long history. And I feel like I got to see and experience the city in a way that tourists normally don't.
A very important "thing" to mention is our guide, Oz. He was not only kind and funny, but also very knowledgeable. He could tell a lot of things about the city, it's people, history and culture in an interesting way. He took care of everything and showed us the town the way he sees it and you could feel his love for the city and it's people which was really touching.
Wrapped up we had an amazing, interesting and funny day, and I can highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see more of the city than the center, the bazaar and the blue mosque. ;)
