A ether (A) C5H120 when heated with excess of hot concentra
when heated with excess of hot concentrated HI, produced two alkyl
halides, which on hydrolysis forms compound (B) and (C). Oxidation o
forms compound (B) and (C). Oxidation of (B) gives an acid
(D) where as oxidation of (C) gives ketone (E). Identify A, B, C, D and E and write the
chemical equation.​

It is obvious from the given information that B must be a primary alcohol while C must be secondary alcohol. From there, it is quite easy to back calculate and derive the structure of the ether A in the following way.
