A European sports car dealer claims
that his product will accelerate at a
constant rate from rest to a speed of 100
km/hr in 8.00 s. What is the speed after
the first 4.00 s of acceleration? (Hint:
First convert the speed to m/s.)
Select one:
a. 27.8 m/s
b. 13.9 m/s
c. 20.9 m/s
d. 41.7 m/s
e. 7.0 m/s

Answer:-

13.9 m/s

Explanation :-

u = 0 m/s

v = 100 km/h = 100 x 5 / 18

  = 250/9 m/s

By v = u + at

    250/9 = 0 + 8 x t

    a = 125/36 m/s^2

Again, for 4s

v = u + at

v = 0 + 125/36 x 4

v = 125/9 = 13.9 m/s

Hope this helps!

Answer:

The speed of car for the first 4 secs of acceleration is 13.9m/secs

Explanation:

The speed of the car for 8 secs is 100km/hr

speed of the car for first 4 secs is(4*100)/8=50kmph\\

to conver 50kmph to m/sec multiply with 5/18

now

=50*\frac{5}{18}\\\\=\frac{125}{9}  \\=13.9

The speed of car for the first 4 secs of acceleration is 13.9m/secs
