  • Ionic hydrides are usually binary compounds (i.e., only two elements in the compound) and are also insoluble in solutions. common examples are Sodium Hydride (NaH), Lithium hydride (LiH), Potassium hydride (KH) etc.

  • the portion of the total hardness of water that is removable by boiling whereby the soluble bicarbonates of calcium and magnesium are converted into the corresponding insoluble carbonates and are precipitated !
