A. according to duplet rule hydrogen have to complete two electrons in its outermost shell to complete it's duplet and become stable.

B. according to octet rule an atom need eight electron in its outermost shell to complete it's octate and become stable

Answer:

A)Hydrogen is having atomic number 1, so it's electronic configuration is 1.To become stable it gains 1 electron and becomes stable by attaining duplet i.e. 2 electrons in its outermost shell to become stable.

B)In the formation of NaCl,

Na(Z=11)

Electronic configuration=2,8,1

Na will lose 1 electron to attain stability by completing octet

Cl(Z=17)

Electronic configuration=2,8,7

Cl will gain 1 electron to attain stability by completing octet.
