Hey there!!

Thank u for your Question ,

Diamond -

General Properties -

it is a colourless transparent substance with extraordinary brilliance due to its high refractive index

it is quite heavy and extremely hard hardest natural substance known

it doesn't conduct electricity because of the absence of free electrons but it has high thermal conductivity and high melting point

Structure -
it is a giant molecules of carbon atoms in which is carbon atom is linked to 4 carbon atoms by strong covalent bond forming a rigid -dimensional network structure which is responsible for its hardness more ever and lots of energy is required to break the network of strong covalent bonds in the Diamond crystal thus its melting point is very high

Uses -
due to its hardness it is a used as a knife for cutting marble granite and glass it is used for the purpose of a ornaments studded as precious stone

◇Graphite -

General Properties -

it is a greyish black opaque substance

it is lighter than Diamond filled soft smooth and slippery to touch

it is a good conductor of electricity due to the presence of free electrons but had conductor of heat

◇Structure -

agri fight crystal consists of layers of carbon atoms or seats of carbon atoms it's carbon atoms in a grey white layer is join two three other carbon atoms by strong covalent bonds to form flat hexagonal rings however the fourth electron of each carbon atom is 3 which make its good conductor of electricity the various layers of carbon atoms in graphite are held Together by weak van der waals forces so days can slide slide over one another and therefore graphite is slippery to touch

Uses -

it is used as the powdered lubricant for the parts of a machinery

it is used for making electrodes of a cell and lady 4 pencils as it can work paper black it is therefore called black colour for a plumbago

Hope this helps u !!

Sorry to inconvenience for graphite structure
