Answer:

a) explain who found the cells and how?

the cell was first discovered and named by robert hooke in 1665. he remarked that it looked strangely similar to cellula or small rooms which monks inhabited, thus deriving the name. however what hooke actually saw was the dead cell walls of plant cells (cork) as it appeared under the microscope.

b) why cell is called as fundamental unit of life?

cells make up the smallest level of a living organism such as yourself and other living things. the cellular level of an organism where the metabolic processes occur that keep the organism alive. this is why the cell is called the fundamental unit of life.

c) why plasma membrane is called as selectively permeable membrane?

plasma membrane is called a selectively permeable membrane because it regulates the movement of substances from within to outside of the cell. this means that the plasma membrane allows the entry it some substances while preventing the movement of some other substances.
