i)

Method I :-

→ p² - 10p + 25

→ (p)² - 2 × (5) × (p) + (5)²

It is in the form of -

• (a - b)² = a² - 2ab + b²

→ ( p - 5 )²

→ ( p - 5 ) ( p - 5 )

Method II :-

Using the middle term splitting method :-

→ p² - 10p + 25

→ p² - 5p - 5p + 25

→ p ( p - 5 ) - 5 ( p - 5 )

→ ( p - 5 ) ( p - 5 )

p² - 10p + 25 = ( p - 5 ) ( p - 5 )

ii)

Using the middle term splitting method :-

→ x² + 5x + 6

→ x² + 3x + 2x + 6

→ x ( x + 3 ) + 2 ( x + 3 )

→ ( x + 2 ) ( x + 3 )

x² + 5x + 6 = ( x + 2 ) ( x + 3 )
