Answer:

First day - 333.33 miles

and second day - 666.66 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

First day , he travels one third of the total distance . Therefore distance traveled on first day =(1/3)*1000= 333.33

Distance traveled on second day = 1000-333.3=666.66 miles

Answer:

600 miles & 400 miles respectively

Step-by-step explanation:

let,1St day=x miles

so,2nd day=(1000-x) miles - that is also (2/3)x

2x/3=1000-x

2x=3000-3x

2x+3x=3000

5x=3000

x=600

therefore:

on 1st day ,they have gone 600 miles

and on 2nd day,they have gone (1000-600)=400 miles
