A family spends 1/4 of its monthly budget on rent, 1/3 in food, 1/8 on out door activities, 1/2 on clothes, and remainder is saved. How much is saved if the monthly income is $8764.65?Give your answer to nearest whole number.

So the family spends

1/3 on rent

1/4 on food and

1/6 on entertainment

And saves about $15,000

Now the entire yearly income is 100%(any complete thing is 100%)

1/3 on rent makes it 33.33% of the entire income

1/4 on food makes it 25% on food

Similarly, 1/6 on entertainment is 16.67% on entertainment

So together the spendings are 75%( the percentage spent on rent,food and entertainment)

Therefore, the savings are 25%(100%-75%)… As the question reads, the savings are $15,000 so 25%=$15,000

Hence 100%(annual salary)= $60,000. {$15,000*100% /25%}
