Cathy Freeman won the 100m at the Commonwealth Games in 1990 at the age of 17. She won the 200m in 1994 Commonwealth Games. In 1996 in the Atlanta Summer Olympic Games she garnered Silver in the 400m. In 1997 and 1999 she won two World Championships for 400m. She ran for Australia in the Commonwealth Games in 2002 and won with her team in the 4 x 400 relay.
