Dr Vece Paes (Hockey) and leander paes

Dr Vece Paes was part of 1972 Olympics hockey team that won the bronze medal. Twenty four years later his son Leander bagged an Olympic bronze in Tennis. This is the only father-son pair in India to have won Olympic medal for the country. Leander's mother Jennifer captained the Indian volleyball team at the 1980 Asian basketball championship. Sport indeed runs in the Paes family!

2. Sunil and Rohan Gavaskar (Cricket

Sunil Gavaskar is one of India's finest batsmen to have graced the game. He became the first batsman in the world to score 10,000 Test runs and score 34 Test centuries. His son Rohan too played for India albeit in the One-Day Internationals (ODI). The duo has the rare distinction of getting a wicket in the first over bowled in ODI cricket.

3. Major Dhyan Chand and Ashok Kumar

Dhyan Chand was the Wizard of Indian hockey and one of the very few people who startled Adolf Hitler. At the 1936 Berlin Olympic games, Hitler was very impressed with Dhyan Chand and asked if he would like to play for Germany. Dhyan Chand's son Ashok Kumar was a very good player, best remembered for his match-winning goal against arch rivals Pakistan at the 1975 World Cup final in Kuala Lumpur.

4. Yograj and Yuvraj Singh (Cricket)

Yograj Singh played only one Test and ODI for India in 1981. He was not happy with the way he was treated by the selectors. Yograj had only one ambition in mind - to make his son the best cricketer in the world. Little Yuvraj played non-stop cricket during his formative years and turned out to be India's most reliable batsman especially in the limited overs format. Yuvraj played pivotal roles in India's World T20 triumph in 2007 and World Cup 2011 win.
