Sri Sri Shastriji is a well known social worker. His Lok Seva Samaj is a well known social organization which renders a lot of service to society. He is an avid speaker and inspires people with his talks. On Thursday our teacher told us that the next day Sri Sri Shastriji was going to visit our school. She told us about the social work that he was doing and we were very impressed.
It was a very special occasion for all of us. We were all keenly looking forward to his visit. Most of us reached school an hour before the usual time. Everywhere students were seen talking excitedly about his visit. It was 10 a.m and we all stood in a line on both sides of the pathway leading to the lecture hall. There was pin drop silence.
The Principal and some teachers went ahead and welcomed Sri Sri Shastriji. He is a tall man and has a fine personality. His face radiates compassion and kindness. We were impressed after seeing him.
When he started speaking, we became so enraptured by his speech that we did not realize how much time had passed and soon it was time for him to go. Even after he left we sat quietly and were in deep thought.
We realized the time only after the bell rang for break. We started
discussing about the wonderful things he had told us. His speech inspired us to follow the
ideals of simple living and high thinking. All of us decided to serve the society in whatever small ways we could and help the poor children
in our neighbourhood.
