a fan is sold for rs 3600 at a loss of 4% what would be the gain or loss per cent if it wass sold for Rs 4200?

Sp=₹3600

Loss%=4%

First we will find its cp = sp x 100/(100-loss%)

=3600x100/(100-4)

=3600x100/96

=360000/96

=₹3750

Now if it was sold at ₹4200 then

We get profit

Sp>cp =profit

Profit =sp-cp

=4200-3750

=₹450

Profit %= profit / cp x 100

=450/3750 x 100

=12%

Profit =12%
