Hey friend here is your answer:-

Power of fan used up in...

1 hour = 40 W

20 hours = 40 * 20

= 800W-h

= 0.8 kW-h

Then the bill is ...

If you meant 20 hours a day then = 20*30*10

= Rs. 6000

Else = 20*10

= Rs. 200

Given A fan of 40 w working for 20 hours. If the cost per unit is ₹10, find monthly bill?

So 4 0 w x 20 hrs will be 800 w or o.8 kw

Since a unit is a kw we can take as 0.8 units / day.

So in one day 0.8 units is consumed

So for 30 days 0.8 x 30 = 24

So total units consumed is 24

Now 1 unit is Rs 10

For 24 units it will be 24 x 10 = Rs 240
