Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN:-

Total height =6cm

Diameter of lower cylinder = 7cm

Diameter of upper cylinder = 3.5cm

TO FIND:-

The volume of the paper weight.

UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT:-

According to the question,

The diameter of upper cylinder is 3.5cm, So the R1 ( radius of upper cylinder)

  = \frac{3.5}{2} \\

 = 1.75cm

The diameter of lower cylinder is 7cm, So the R1 (radius of lower cylinder)

 = \frac{7}{2} \\

 = 3.5cm

Height of upper cylinder = H1 = 2cm

Height of lower cylinder = H2 = 4cm

By this we can find the Volume of upper cylinder and lower cylinder and finally add up all to get total volume.

REQUIRED ANSWER:-

Volume of cylinder,

 =\pi \: r {}^{2} h \\

Volume of upper cylinder,

 = \pi \: r1 {}^{2} h \\

 = \frac{22}{7} \times (1.75) {}^{2} \times 2 \\

 = \frac{22}{7} \times 3.0625 \times 2 \\

 = \frac{134.75}{7} \\

 = 19.25cm {}^{3} \\

Volume of lower cylinder,

 = \pi \: r2 {}^{2} h2 \\

 = \frac{22}{7} \times (3.5) {}^{2} \times 4 \\

 = \frac{22}{7} \times 12.25 \times 4 \\

 = \frac{1078}{7} \\

 = 154cm {}^{3} \\

Total Volume = Volume of Upper cylinder + Volume of lower cylinder.

Total Volume = 19.25 + 154

Total Volume = 173.25cm^3

Therefore the Volume of paper weight = 173.25cm ^3
