Let x acres cost 5000rs and remaining (100-x) cosr 1800 rs..
Then,
5000x+1800×(100-x) =388000
=>5000x-1800x=388000-180000
=>x=208000/3200
=>x=65
65 acres 5000rs
35 acres 1800rs

Answer:

The number of acres bought at rate of rs.1800 and Rs.5000 is 35 acres and 65 acres respectively.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A farmer bought 100 acres of land for Rs 3,88,000. A part cost him Rs 5000 per acre and the remaining Rs 1800 per acre.

To Find : Find the Number of acres bought at each price?

Solution :

Let x be the number of acres bought at rate of rs.5000

Cost of x acres of land = 5000x

Total acres = 100

So, The number of acres bought at rate of rs.1800 = 100-x

Cost of 100-x acres of land = 1800(100-x)

So, We are given that A farmer bought 100 acres of land for Rs 3,88,000.

So, 5000x+ 1800(100-x)= 388000

5000x+ 180000-1800x= 388000

3200x+ 180000= 388000

3200x= 388000-180000

3200x=208000

x=\frac{208000}{3200}

x=65

So, the number of acres bought at rate of rs.5000 is 65 acres.

The number of acres bought at rate of rs.1800 = 100-x = 100 -65 = 35 acres

Hence The number of acres bought at rate of rs.1800 and Rs.5000 is 35 acres and 65 acres respectively.
