a farmer brought 950 coconut plants he want to plan them in such a way that there are equal number of rows and columns find the minimum number of plants that he will need more for doing this

for getting equal no. of rows and columns, we should have 30 rows and 30 columns, but
30 x 30 = 900 plants and
31 x 31 = 961 plants.. but we have only 950 plants,
so,
961 - 950 = 11 extra plants.
so the number of plants he needs in extra to equalize the number of rows and columns, will be,
11 + 50 = 61 more plants (here 50 came by subtracting 961 from 900)
