A farmer built a fence around his 17 cows in square shaped he used 27 fence poles on each sude of the square how many poles did he need together

The total no of poles used by the farmer= 27*4 = 108poles.

He need a total of 104 poles.

• Given data :

The fence is square in shape.

Number of poles in the one side of fence = 27

• Now, in the two parallel sides of the fence the total number of poles is

= 27×2

= 54 poles

• Now,in the other two parallel sides of the fence the total number pole will be 4 less than the total number of the poles in other two parallel sides, because the 4 poles in the 4 corner overlap each other in the edge of two two consecutive sides.

• So,the number of poles in the other two sides

= 54 - 4

= 50 poles

• Total number of poles = 50+54 = 104 poles (answer)
