Answer:

Time is 100 minute.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A farmer connects a pipe of internal diameter 20 cm from a canal into a tank which is 10 m in diameter and 2 m Deep . If the water flows through the pipe at the rate of 3 km per hour.

To find : How much time will the tank be filled completely ?

Solution :

Dimension of the tank,

Diameter 10 m

Radius = 5 m

Height = 2 m

Volume of the tank is V=\pi R^2 h

Substitute the value,

V=\pi(5)^2 (2)

V=50\pi

Pipe dimension,

Diameter 20 cm

Radius 10 cm = 0.1 m

Rate of flow = 3 km/hr = 3000 m/hr

The time taken by pipe to fill the tank is

t\times \pi r^2 \times rate= 50\pi

t\times 0.1^2 \times 3000= 50

t\times 30= 50

t=\frac{50}{30}

t=\frac{5}{3}\times 60

t=100 min

Therefore, Time is 100 minute.
