A farmer found in iron sphere of radius 18 cm in his field while ploughing thinking that it is of no use, he went to the iron smith and asked him to make a wire of length 108m from it after melting. find the diameter of the wire so formed.

=>88×1944/7 cm^3.

Now, sphere is melted and recast into wire of

length=108m=10800cm. (1 m=100cm)

volume of wire=volume of sphere

So,πr^2h =88×1944/7

22/7×r^2×10800=88×1944/7

r^2×237600/7=88×1944/7

r^2=88×1944/7×7/237600.

r=√18/25 =3√2/5.

diameter=2×radius

=2×3√2/5 =6√2/5....ans...
