A farmer grows one crop after the other, like wheat followed by cover crop followed by bean. what are the benefits of growing crops in such an order?

growing of different crops in same piece of land is known as crop rotation and the benefits of growing crops in such way are..protects crops from insect pest attack, maintains soil fertility, conserve moisture, increases yield..hope it will help u

Method of growing crops alternately on same land is known as crop rotation.

Let us explain with an  example :

Legumes which include pea, beans, grams and pulses are grown in first season wheat next to it.  

The legume crops (has nitrogen fixing bacteria) uses up different nutrients from the soil but it fixes atmospheric nitrogen and makes the soil richer in nitrogen and fertility of soil is maintained.

Benefits of crop rotation

  • The land gets utilized in a better way
  • Soil Fertility is maintained
  • Farmer has variety of crops for selling
