The former will use 2520 m long rope to fence the field.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data:

Length of field = 240 m

Breadth of field = 180 m

Length of rope required =  3 x perimeter of his rectangular field.

Therefore,

Length of rope =   3 X 2( length + breadth)

= 3 X 2 ( 240 + 180)

= 3 X 2 X 420

= 6 X 420

= 2520 m.

The former will use 2520 m long rope to fence the field.
