A farmer has a rectangular field of length and breadth 240m and 160m respectively. He wants to fence it with 5 rounds of rope. What is the total length of rope he must use? Also find the cost of rope at the rate of Rs. 100 per meter.

Length of rectangular field=240m

Breadth of the rectangular field=160m

Perimeter of the rectangular field=2(240+160)

                                                   =2(400)

                                                   =800m

Length of the rope for 1 round=800m

Thus, length of the rope for 5 rounds=5x800

                                                         =4000m

Cost of rope per meter=Rs 100

Cost of the rope for 4000m=100x 4000=Rs4,00,000
