Given:

A farmer has a triangular field with sides 360m 200m and 250m where he grows wheat adjacent to this field he has another triangular field with sides 240m-320m and 400m divided into two parts by joining the midpoint of the longest side to the opposite vertex he grows food item in one part in onions in another bird.

To find:

How much area in hectares has been used for wheat potatoes and onions

Solution:

Area of Triangle with sides 200 m, 250 m and 360 m for Wheat

s = (200 + 250 + 360)/2 = 405

Area using hero Formula

= √405 (405-200)(405-250)(405-360)

= √405 * 205 * 155 * 45

= 24064 m²

= 2.41 hectare

Area of Triangle with sides 240 m, 320 m and 400 m   for onion & Potato

s = (240 + 320 + 400)/2 = 480

Area = √480 * 240 * 160 * 80

= 38400 m²

= 3.84 hectare

As the second triangle is divided into 2 parts, we have the longest side to the opposite vertex i.e Median

Median Divides the triangle into two equal area

= 3.84/2

= 1.92 hectare

Potatoes = 1.92 Hectare

Onion = 1.92 hectare

Wheat = 2.41 Hectare
