A farmer has enough food to feed 20 animals in his cattle for 3 days. How long would the food last if there were 10 more animals in his cattle? ​

Let the required number of days be p.

 \because x_1y_1 = x_2y_2

Where,

 x_1 = 20, \: y_1 = 10, \: x_2 = 30 and  y_2 = p (let)

=> 20 × 3 = 30 × p

=> 60 = 30p

=> p = 60/30

=> p = 2

Hence the required number of days = 2.
