Let’s assume Number of chicken as X and goat as Y
2X + 4Y = 140 and X + Y = 50
Since chicken has 2 legs and goat has 4 legs.
X = 50 - Y. sub value of X in equation 1.
2(50- Y) + 4Y = 140
100 - 2Y + 4Y = 140
100 + 2Y = 140
2Y = 40
Y = 20, Number of goat is 20. So chicken will 30
