the farmer's objective here is to reunite the sons and he has done so with a sublime example showing that one stick alone is easily breakable whereas the sticks together are tough to break,thus "united we stand,divided we fall"

The lesson we get is strength lies in unity if we are alone we can be easily made fool but if we are many no one will try to do that. In the story the farmer wanted his son to live with love
