A farmer has to go 500 m due north 400 m due east and 200m due south to reach his field if he takes 20 minutes to reach the field what is the average velocity of the farmer during the walk

average velocity = total displacement/total time taken
so,
the farmer had a displacement of just 500m and the time taken is 20 minutes ie (60x20=1200).
and if we divide 500/1200 = 0.14666

shruti8761: can find the displacement with vector formula.
shruti8761: if yes then please check my ans.

Answer:25m/min

Explanation: Average velocity=Total displacement÷Total time.

Here, displacement is 500m.

So, average velocity=500÷20=25m/min.
