A farmer has two types of fields, one is in the form ofa square of area 144 m and
anotheris in the form of a rectangle of sides 16 m and 8 m. Farmer wants to fencehis

just take out perimeter of square & rectangle
S = side x 4 , R = 2 x (l + b)
area of square is 144 = side ²
144 = 12²
One side of square is 12 ,now Perimeter of square is 12 x 4 = 48 m
Rectangle length & breadth is (16 & 8)m respectively
Perimeter of rectangle is 2(l + b)
= 2 x ( 16 + 8)
= 2 x 24
= 48m
