Given :-

  • A farmer is walking on the boundary of a rectangular field whose dimension is 200 m and 100 m

To Find :-

  • Find out the distance in km travelled by the farmer in 3 and a half rotation ?

Solution :-

~Here, we’re given the dimensions of a rectangular field and we need to find the distance travelled by the farmer in 3 and a half rotation. For finding the distance travelled firstly we’ll find the perimeter of the field and then multiply it with 3.5 as given to us we’ll convert that distance into km .

_____________

As we know that ,

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b )

Where,

  • l is length
  • b is breadth

_____________

Finding the perimeter :-

⟶ 2( 100 m + 200 m )

⟶ 2 × 300 m

⟶ 600 m

Finding the distance travelled :-

⟶ 3.5 ×  600 m

⟶ 2100 m

Converting into km :-

⟶ 1 m = 1/1000 km

⟶ 2100 m = 2100/1000 km

⟶ 2.1 km

_____________

Hence,

  • The distance travelled by the farmer is 2.1 km

Length of the rectangular field (l) = 200 m

Breadth of the rectangular field (b) = 100 m

Perimeter of the rectangular feet (p) = 2(l+b)

= p = 2(200+100) m

= p = 2*300 m = 600 m

In each rotation, the farmer will cover 600 m, so, in 3.5 rotations, he'll cover = (600*3.5) m

= 2100 m or, 2.1 km
