A farmer moves along boundary of a square field of side 10m in 40 seconds what will be the magnitude of displace of farmer at the end of 2 minutes 20 seconds from his initial positions

Let the four vertices of the square be a,b,c,d.

I AM GOING TO WRITE THE ANSWER WITH RESPECT TO EACH SIDE.

Side AB:

length = 10m

time = 40s

So when he reach C 1min 20s will be over. And is displacement at that point will be 10√2.

When he reach D the displacement will be 10m

and there will be a remaining 20s. During that time he will cover half distance of a side.

So the final displacement in the side CD will be :

10-5= 5m

Thus the displacement will be 5m.
