Answer:

35

Explanation:

2min 20 sec = 140sec

10m=40sec

5m=20sec

140/20=7

5*7=35m

Answer: = 10\sqrt{2 m

Explanation:

4 sides in 40 seconds means 1 side in 10 seconds .... (1)

2 minutes 20 seconds = 60*2 +20 = 120+20 = 140 seconds

Now, in 40 seconds he completes one round and comes to the point where he started. so in 40*3 = 120 seconds, after 3 rounds he is again back at his position.

now in next 20 seconds (120+20= 140 seconds), can move along 2 more side,

(see (1)).  It means he is at diagonally opposite point to the point where he started.

so, displacement = length of diagonal

                            =\sqrt{10^2 +10^2

                            = 10\sqrt{2 m
