Speed of farmer = distance / time

= 10/40

= 0.25 m/sec.

2min 20sec = 140 seconds

Farmer takes 40 sec. To complete the round of square boundary then,

Distance travel in 140 sec. = speed * time

= 0.25*140

= 35 m

Displacement = final distance b/w initial position and final position

So, Displacement = 5 m
