Perimeter of square field=4a

=4*10

=40m

time for one round=40s

2min 20s=60*2+20

=120+20

=140s

no of rounds=140/40

=3.5 rounds

the farmer starts from A and completes 3.5 rounds, that is final position will be C. We can see the displacement by drawing a straight line from A to C

Displacement can be found by Pythagoras theorem

Displacement=root 10^2+10^2

=root 100+100

=root 200

=root 100*2

= 10 root 2

Hope it helps.......
