HEYA!!!
HERE'S YOUR ANSWER!!!

There could be 2 cases in this problem :-

1st case
When the farmer starts somewhere in the middle.

Time taken to cross 1 side = 40 sec.
Length of side = 10 m
Total Time = 2min 20 sec = 140 sec

Rounds = total time ÷ time taken to cross 1 side

= 140/40
= 3.5 rounds
=> Displacement is equal to Lenght to side as it is a square
Therefore Displacement = 10m.
___________

2nd case
If he starts from edge.

Distance travelled will be same as case 1 as time is same.
Therefore Displacement = Hypotunese
= h^2 = p^2 + b^ 2
= h^2 = 100 + 100

= h^2 = 200
h = \sqrt{200}
h = 14.142 mts.

Hi friend,

Hi friend, Total distance covered 10m in 40sec

Hi friend, Total distance covered 10m in 40secTotal time taken= 2min 20sec= 140sec

Hi friend, Total distance covered 10m in 40secTotal time taken= 2min 20sec= 140secTotal round completed = 140/40=3.5 rounds

Hi friend, Total distance covered 10m in 40secTotal time taken= 2min 20sec= 140secTotal round completed = 140/40=3.5 rounds So If an object moves from A to D, the shortest path will be from A to C. So displacement is AC, that we will find by phythogoras theorem.
