GIVEN:

  • A farmer puts a rope 30m round a rectangular garden
  • Length of the rectangular garden = 10 m

TO FIND:

  • What is the breadth of the rectangular garden ?

SOLUTION:

Let the breadth of the rectangular garden be 'b' m

We have given that, a rope 30m round a rectangular garden.

It means that, the perimeter of the rectangular garden is 30 m

We know that the formula for finding the perimeter of rectangle is:-

\large{\boxed{\bf{\star \: PERIMETER = 2(L+B) \: \star}}}

According to question:-

On putting the given values in the formula, we get

  • Perimeter = 30 m
  • Length = 10 m
  • Breadth = b m

\rm{\hookrightarrow 30 = 10 + b}

\rm{\hookrightarrow 30-10 = b }

\bf{\hookrightarrow 20 \: m = b }

Hence, the Breadth of the rectangular garden is 20 m
