A farmer rotates wheat, corn, and soybean crops on her farm1. The farmer produces 293 bushels of produce and sells them for a total of $1,557. Wheat costs $8 for a bushel. Corn costs $4 a bushel. Soybeans cost $9 a bushel. If the farmer's crops yield 4.75 times more corn than wheat, how many bushels of each crop does the farmer produce?

Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy into chemical energy that, through cellular respiration, can later be released to fuel the organism's activities.
Given : A farmer rotates wheat, corn, and soybean crops on her farm1. The farmer produces 293 bushels of produce and sells them for a total of $1,557. Wheat costs $8 for a bushel. Corn costs $4 a bushel. Soybeans cost $9 a bushel. If the farmer's crops yield 4.75 times more corn than wheat,
To Find : how many bushels of each crop does the farmer produce?
Solution:
W + C + S = 293
8W + 4C + 9S = 1557
C = 4.75W
Substitute C = 4.75W in first two equations
=> 5.75W + S = 293
27W + 9S = 1557 => 3W + S = 173
=> 2.75W = 120
=> W = 120/2.75 = 24/0.55 = 2400/55 = 480/11
C = 4.75W = 2280/11
480/11 + 2280/11 + S = 293
=> S = 463/11
bushels of each crop does the farmer produce
Corn = 2280/11
Wheat = 480/11
Soya = 463/11
