length of one corner of square is 10m

so total length of four side is 40 m.

now given that he takes 40 second to complete one round.

so in one second he complete distance=

40/40= 1 m

now we calculate distance traveled by farmer in 2 min. 20 sec or 140 sec.

= 140×1= 140 m

now we calculate displacement=>

total length of 4 side is 40 m

given length= 140 m

so farmer complete 40×3 = 120 m length and 20 m extra from initial position. so farmer situated at 2nd corner from initial position.

we know that length of diagonal of square = √2 x side of square

= √2 x 10 m

= 10√2. ( given side of square is 10 m)
