A farmer takes 250 chickens to be sold at a market. In the first hour he
sells 8% of his chickens. In the second hour he sells 10% of those that
were left.
a How many chickens has he sold in total?
b What percentage of the original number did he sell in the two hours?

=>Chickens sell in first hour

=8×250/100

= 2000/100

=20chickens

=>Chickens sell in second hour

=10×250/100

=2500/100

=25chickens

a)Total no of chickens he sold=(20+25)

Ans=45chickens

b)45×100/250

4500/250

450/25

90/5

Ans=18%
