First the farmer need to use ph value to evaluate whether the soil is acidic or basic. If it is acidic he should add lime as it is alkaline and will reduce the acidity of the soil.
If the soil is basic then one quick solution is to mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 2 litres of water and spray it ocassionally on the soil. Or else, the armer can also add lime, mulches or organic matter to change the ph of the soil.
