A farmer works hard throughout the day in his farm (Shown in figure below).He
uses hay from his farm to feed his cattles. He holds a bundle of hay over his head for
20 minutes standing at the same place waiting for few cattles to clear his way and
gets tired. Has he done some work or not? Justify your answer.

Firstly, Work is said to be done when applied Force displaces the object from its original position.
So in this case the farmer has not displaces from his position but he applied his force in holding the bundle of hay but he does not displaces from his position so in this case work is not said to be done. Hence he has not done any work.
& it's formula is
Work done =Force × displacement
& it's SI unit is = 1 Newton × 1 metre which is 1 Joule.
