Given : A fast pitch softball player signs a six year contract.

Her agent expects that she will earn 1000000 over the next six years

Yearly salary = 20000

Bonus  for each game with 100 + fans =  8000

To Find :  how many bonus payments, on average should the pitcher expect each year

Solution:

Let bonus payments, on average should the pitcher expect each year  = B

in 6 Years = 6B

one Bonus Payment = 8000

=> Total Bonus Payment = 6B * 8000 = 48000B

Yearly salary = 20000

Total Salary in 6 Years  = 20000 * 6 = 120000

Bonus Payment + Salary  = Total Earning

=> 48000B + 120000 = 1000000

=> 48000B  = 880000

=> 48B = 880

=> B = 880/48

=> B = 110/6

=> B = 55/3

=> B = 18.33

18.33 bonus payment every years expected

Approx. 18  bonus payment every year
