Answer:

(a) Fraction of total amount received by Shyam = 1 - 3/5

                                                                               = 2/5

(b) Share of Ram = 3/5 x 360

                            = 216

(c) Share of Shyam = 2/5 x 360

                                = 144

Hope this helps! :)

Given:

We have that father  divided  amount of 360 among his two sons Ram and Shyam.If Ram received 3/5 of the total amount.

To Find:

We need to find the following :

a) Fraction of total amount received by Shyam?

(b) Share of Ram?

c) Share of Shyam?

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Since it is given that the father of Ram and Shayam shares the amount 360 bwteen them

         We have that Ram received third-fifth of total amount and the    remainng by shyam.

  • a) Let the total amount be 1.

           Fraction of Shyam shre will be given by

                       1-\frac{3}{5} =\frac{2}{5}

Hence, Fraction share of shaym is \frac{2}{5}.

  • b) Let the Ram share be x.

            Also it is given that share of ram is third-fifth of 360

                       \textrm{Share of ram is}=\frac{3}{5} \times360\\=3\times72\\=216

Hence, share of Ram isRs. 216.

  • c) Let the share of shaym is y.
  • Then we know share of shyam can be calculated by total amount  minus by share of ram
  • Hence share of Shayam is=Total amount-share of Ram

                                           =360-216=144

Hence, share of Shayam is Rs.144

a) Hence, Fraction share of shaym is \frac{2}{5}

b) Hence, share of Ram isRs. 216.

c) Hence, share of Shayam is Rs.144
