Let the ages of children be,

$x, x+3, x+ 6, x+9, x+ 12$

Given that,

Average age is 50,

$(x+x+3+x+6+x+9+x+12)/5 = 50$

Add and cross multiply,

$5x + 30 = 250$

$5x = 220$

$x = 220/5$

∴ The age of youngest child will be,

$=44$
